Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Engineering celebrated the graduation of its 80th class in the presence of Alexandria Governor Eng. Ayman Attia, university and faculty leaders, members of Parliament, faculty members, graduates, and their families.

In their speeches, the Governor, Vice President Dr. Afaf El-Awafy, and Faculty Dean Dr. Wael El-Maghlany congratulated the graduates, emphasizing the college’s role in preparing qualified engineers equipped with scientific knowledge, professional skills, and a sense of responsibility toward society and the nation.

They encouraged the graduates to continue learning and developing their skills in emerging fields such as artificial intelligence, digital transformation, renewable energy, green engineering, and smart cities, stressing that graduation marks the beginning of a new journey of learning and professional contribution.

The ceremony concluded with the graduates taking the engineering professional oath before the Head of the Engineers Syndicate in Alexandria, pledging to uphold the ethics of the profession and use their knowledge in service of the nation and society.

 

 

Prof. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, and Prof. Mohamed Moataz Khamis, Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, congratulated the faculty on earning international accreditation from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd).

This achievement highlights the faculty's commitment to international standards in clinical education and training. The accreditation covers a bundle of dental programs and is effective from July 1, 2026, to July 1, 2028, further solidifying the university's global academic standing.

 

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Science hosted the third edition of the “Scientists’ Day” celebration, organized by the Alexandria Syndicate of Scientific Professions in cooperation with the Faculty, at the Moharam Bek building. The event was held as part of the University’s commitment to strengthening partnerships between academic institutions and the industrial sector and highlighting the role of science and scientists in advancing development.

The celebration was attended by Prof. Dr. Mohamed Essam Hagar, Dean of the Faculty of Science; Prof. Dr. Yousry El-Gamal, former Minister of Education; Prof. Dr. Essam Khamis, former Deputy Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research; Prof. Dr. Yasser Refaat, Advisor to the Minister of Higher Education for Planning and Governance; Prof. Dr. Mohamed Ismail, Senior Advisor to the President of the British University in Egypt and former President of Matrouh University; and Prof. Dr. Mostafa El-Naggar, former President of Matrouh University. The event also brought together members of the Alexandria Syndicate of Scientific Professions’ Board, as well as distinguished scientists, professors, researchers, scientific professionals, and representatives of the industrial sector.

Prof. Dr. Mohamed Essam Hagar emphasized the Faculty of Science’s commitment to supporting scientific and professional events that enhance the status of science and scientists and create opportunities for interaction between scientific talents and various sectors of society. He noted the Faculty’s focus on preparing graduates equipped with the scientific and practical skills required to meet the evolving needs of the labor market, particularly in the fields of artificial intelligence, the blue economy, energy, and sustainability.

He further explained that the Faculty is working to develop its curricula and launch specialized academic programs aligned with the needs of society and the industrial sector. This is in addition to supporting the transformation of scientific ideas and research into practical applications and startups through the Alexandria University Technology Park, thereby promoting innovation and entrepreneurship and strengthening the connection between scientific research and industry needs.

For their part, Dr. Salah El-Nady, Head of the Alexandria Syndicate of Scientific Professions’ Committee for the Conduct of Affairs, and Chemist Abdel Meguid Hegazy, Head of the Alexandria Board of the Syndicate of Scientific Professions, praised the distinguished level of graduates of the Faculty of Science. They stressed the importance of continued cooperation between the academic community and the industrial sector and of leveraging scientific expertise to support scientific research and national development plans.

The celebration featured two panel discussions. The first, titled “Bridging Science and Industry,” addressed the qualifications and skills required of Faculty of Science graduates, promising fields of specialization, and ways to utilize scientific research and master’s and doctoral theses to advance industry and create added economic value.

The second session, titled “The University and Sustainable Development,” explored the role of higher education and scientific research in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, supporting entrepreneurship, fostering innovative ideas, and utilizing artificial intelligence applications across various disciplines.

The celebration also featured presentations showcasing success stories of Egyptian scientists and experts, along with introductory and documentary films highlighting the Alexandria Syndicate of Scientific Professions, the Faculty of Science, and the contributions of its professors.

The event concluded with the honoring of a number of scientific professionals, industry leaders, scientists, university professors, and distinguished researchers in recognition of their contributions and achievements.

 

 

Under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Agriculture celebrated the graduation of its 81st class for the 2025/2026 academic year, in the presence of university and faculty leaders, faculty members, staff, and graduates’ families.

Dr. Heba Sobhy Salama, Dean of the Faculty, congratulated the graduates and their families, emphasizing the vital role of agriculture in achieving sustainable development, strengthening food security, and preserving natural resources. She encouraged the graduates to apply their knowledge and skills in supporting and advancing Egypt’s agricultural sector.

The ceremony included honoring the graduates in recognition of their efforts, as well as honoring a number of the faculty’s senior professors for their longstanding academic contributions and service to generations of students.

 

 

Under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Adel Abdel Hakim, Acting President of Alexandria University, the university announced the final results of the internal hackathon of the Green Loop Competition 2026 on university waste management, hosted by the Faculty of Agriculture. Three projects won and qualified for the national-level competition.

The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Heba Salama, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, along with competition supervisors, trainers, judges, and administrative representatives.

The university honored all participating teams and reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the three qualified projects, as well as other promising student initiatives, to transform innovative ideas into practical and sustainable waste-management solutions.
