Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Engineering organized an introductory session for the joint international Master’s program with the University of Louisville, United States of America. The session was attended by Professor Dr. Walid El-Borqi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; Professor Dr. Ayman El-Baz, Chair of the Department of Bioengineering at the University of Louisville; Professor Dr. Gehan Gouyfel, Assistant to the University President for Education Internationalization and International Branches; Dr. Tamer Helmy, Director of Engineering Programs at Alexandria National University; Dr. Ahmed Sherif, Director of Computer Science Programs at Alexandria National University; and Dr. Ahmed El-Tarras, Head of International Relations at the Faculty of Engineering.

The event witnessed a large turnout of students and graduates eager to pursue internationally oriented postgraduate studies. The details of the program were presented, highlighting its unique opportunity for students to obtain a Master’s degree in Engineering Sciences across various disciplines.

According to the program structure, students begin their studies by completing 6 credit hours at Alexandria University, before proceeding to complete an additional 24 credit hours at the University of Louisville. This provides a unique opportunity to obtain a prestigious academic degree while gaining an enriching international educational experience.

Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Sixth International Conference of the Faculty of Agriculture was held under the title “The Future of Livestock and Food Security,” organized by the Department of Animal and Fish Production at the Faculty of Agriculture in cooperation with the Egyptian Society for Animal Production. The conference lasted for three days, in the presence of specialists from Egyptian universities and research institutes, as well as various Arab and foreign universities, former vice presidents of the university, deans and vice deans of agricultural faculties from Egyptian universities, and public figures from the Fisheries Resources Authority and the Food Safety Authority.

Dr. Mohmed Bahey El-Din Mohamed, Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture, indicated that the conference activities included discussing many important issues, most notably food security. He explained that the sessions discussed several topics related to sustainable development goals in light of climate change and water scarcity, reformulating the livestock strategy and correcting its path to provide animal resources, as well as the reality and future of the poultry and fisheries industry, the focus of modern technologies, linking and intersecting sciences, and their role in improving the performance of farm animals and their production efficiency.

Dr. Heba Sabry Salama, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Agriculture for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, indicated that more than 300 professors from universities, institutes, research centres and those interested in livestock participated in the conference. The activities included a workshop on industrial applications of nanotechnology and microbiology for the sustainable development of livestock in light of climate change. The conference also included online scientific sessions in which professors from Spain, China, Japan, Mexico, and Turkey and a group of university and research centre professors participated. Sessions were also conducted on fish farming and the use of magnetic water technology on the performance of farm animals.

Dr. Heba Salama also indicated holding a session on poultry wealth and modern techniques in animal nutrition to maximize productivity of farm animals. She added that the conference’s recommendations emphasized the necessity of making optimal use of research related to what is known as gene expression, transcriptomics, and propium in improving the productivity of farm animals, while adapting the rapid development in estimating the outcomes of various metabolic processes to benefit from this in achieving sustainable development of livestock, especially after it has become a necessity with the increase in conducting research related to the genetic improvement of Egyptian animals as a main means to achieve sustainable development of livestock, poultry and fish wealth. The conference also recommended the need to take quick executive measures to establish a gene bank or local animal genetic assets, and work to complete the production chain of the poultry industry, whether in the commercial or rural sector, in order to ensure the continued sustainable development of this important component of the livestock sector, which represents the fulfilment of an important part of individuals’ needs for animal protein, with the need to pay attention to reducing the intermediate links in marketing poultry and its products, which contributes to reducing the cost of production and lowering prices.

Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, and the supervision of Dr. Wael Nabil, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and in continuation of the excellent work of the measurement and evaluation system at Alexandria University, the Committee of the Measurement and Evaluation Center at the Ministry of Higher Education visited the Faculty of Physical Education for Women, the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, and the Faculty of Physical Education for Men at Alexandria University, to receive the projects of the sixth round of digital transformation in the measurement and evaluation systems of these faculties.

Dr. Sameh Nakhla, director of the Measurement and Evaluation Center at Alexandria University, indicated that during the visit the committee praised the development achieved by these faculties through digital transformation in their measurement and evaluation systems, and the establishment of nearly 50 question banks for courses within these faculties. The committee also praised the remarkable development in the governance of practical and oral exams, and the strong start of the electronic tests in these faculties, through the full support of the Deans for the measurement and evaluation units for the success of the digital transformation project, and the efforts of the directors and members of the measurement and evaluation units in these faculties. He wished the measurement and evaluation units in all faculties of the university further success and progress.

Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Educational Innovations and Distance Learning Unit at the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels is organizing the “In Love with Alexandria” event, from the 9th until the 12th of March 2023, at the Horreya Creativity Center
.
Dr. Abeer Attia, Dean of the Faculty, indicated that this event aims to promote the city of Alexandria in tourism through the works of participants in various competitions in the fields of photography, drawing, artistic handicrafts, souvenirs, poetry, short stories and documentaries, with the participation of a group of professors and specialists in these fields, who helped in refining students' artistic skills, in order to achieve the goal of the activity, which is to discover their creative side and benefit them in these areas.

Dr. Dina Weheba, Executive Director of the Educational Innovations and Distance Learning Unit at the faculty, indicated that the goal of this event is not just to win, but to introduce Alexandria University students to the skills they possess that can contribute to creating a more beautiful and creative world, and to promote the city of Alexandria touristically, through students’ creative expression by launching their various talents, she extends her sincere thanks to Dr. Mahmoud Seif, who highlighted the visual identity of the event with his distinctive designs. In light of Alexandria University’s celebrations of the golden jubilee of the victories of the glorious October War,
The Faculty of Arts, Alexandria University, organized a seminar entitled "The Heroics of the Egyptian Armed Forces during the Glorious October War." The guest speakers of the seminar were Major General Dr. Mohamed El-Soul, a historian, military analyst and lecturer at Egyptian universities, Major General Mahmoud Mohamed Abul-Maati, one of the heroes of the Deversoir Battle, and Major General Hassan Mohamed Nassar, one of the heroes of the Battles of Oyoun Musa.
 
 
The event was attended by Dr. Hani Khamis, Dean of the Faculty, Dr. Naglaa Abou-Agag, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Postgraduate Studies and Research Affairs, Dr. Magdy Agamiya, General Coordinator of Student Activities, and a group of faculty members, students, and faculty employees.
 
 
 
In his speech, Dr. Hani Khamis stressed that the October War is a turning point in Egypt’s contemporary history because it restored hope in the souls of Egyptians, stressing that commemorating October calls for the values of loyalty and belonging in the souls of Egyptians. He indicated that the Egyptian state needs work, diligence, perseverance, and summoning the spirit of victory, adding that the faculty is keen to invite our heroes every year to draw lessons learned and teach our students the meanings of honour, pride and dignity, so that we may honour our heroes and remember our righteous martyrs.
 
 
 
Dr. Magdy Agamiya confirmed that the October War marked heroic acts from which the world learned the meanings of heroism, dignity, sacrifice, and redemption, pointing out that Egypt witnessed very difficult events, and she was able to overcome those difficulties with a high fighting spirit. He sent a message to the students to preserve their homeland, and not to be led by rumors aimed at destabilizing the country.
 
 
 
During the seminar, the heroes of the October War gave lectures recounting the stories, sacrifices, and memories of the War of Attrition and the glorious October War.
