Faculty of Education organizes an educational symposium on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan
Under the auspices of Dr. Abd al-Aziz Konsowa, President of the University of Alexandria, and Dr. Wail Nabil, Vice President of the University for Education and Students, and the supervision and support of Dr. Muhammad Anwar Faraj, Dean of the Faculty of Education, the organization of the community service sector and environmental development at the university. Sheikh Dr. Ibrahim Al-Jamal, the head of the Al-Fatwa committee and the general manager of the Alexandria region, on the virtues of the blessed month and the lessons learned from this blessed month, and then answered the students' questions.
The lecture was attended by a large number of teachers, faculty members, including the college trustees and a large number of college students who interacted with the Sheikh's hadith.
Dr. Asaad Al Kiki appointed as Dean of the Faculty of physical Education for boys
Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, congratulated Asaad Al Kiki, on the occasion of the issuance of the presidential decree to appoint him as Dean of the Faculty of physical Education for boys, wishing him success and continuous efforts to maintain the achievements of the faculty, stressing that all support and assistance will be provided to him for his success in performing his mission.
Faculty of Education Organizes Seminar on Utilizing Artificial Intelligence Applications in Scientific Research
Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdeaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Faculty of Education organized a seminar entitled “Applications of Artificial Intelligence in Scientific Research,” delivered by Dr. Hebatallah Mahmoud Hegazy, teacher of Linguistics and Translation at the Faculty’s English Department, and attended by a group of Vice-deans, department heads, faculty members, supporting staff, and researchers at the faculty.
Dr. Mohamed Anwar Farrag, Dean of the Faculty, indicated that this seminar discussed the concept of artificial intelligence applications for scientific research, the advantages of these applications, the challenges they face, the role of the researcher in making optimal use of them, and ways to employ these applications practically in scientific research in both Arabic and English.
Alexandria University Organizes Student Climate Change Initiative Throughout the Year
Within the framework of Alexandria University’s keenness to enable students to play an active role in climate change issues, and under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, and Dr. Wael Nabil, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, Alexandria University organizes throughout the year until the end of 2023, coinciding with the beginning of the COP27 Climate Summit, a student initiative that aims to engage students in addressing climate change issues, propose innovative solutions, educate them and urge them to pay attention to the effects of climate change in the city of Alexandria and how to protect it from the effects of climate change, through various interactive events that include capacity building, youth dialogue, competitions, theatre performances, training camps, as well as climate change awareness campaigns.
The events began on Thursday the 3rd of November, with the inaugural film screening of the Alexandria University Cinema (AU CINEMA) by Dr. El-Sayed El-Saifi, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce, as a practical part of the social issues course, in the Faculty of Commerce theatre (Hall D), in the presence of Dr. Ayman Shteiwi, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Commerce for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Salah Soliman, professor at the Faculty of Agriculture and general coordinator of the social issues course at Alexandria University, in addition to 1,500 students from the university’s different faculties, where the movie “The Boy Who Harnessed the Wind” was shown, a documentary film about a true story that happened in a poor African village in Malawi.

The idea of the film is based on using the mind to innovate and solve the energy crisis, by having confidence in our capabilities, through the story of a 13-year-old boy who was expelled from the school he loves when his family can no longer afford to pay the fees. However, the boy sneaks into the school library and learns how to build a windmill with which he saves not only his family but also all the people of his village from starvation.
Faculty of Pharmacy organizes a sports marathon for walking and cycling entitled "Running for Green"
Under the patronage of H.E. Prof. Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Faculty of Pharmacy, in cooperation with the students of the Scientific Society of Faculty of Pharmacy, organized a sports marathon for walking and cycling under the title "Running for Green" within the framework of the preparations of Faculty of Pharmacy and University of Alexandria for the Climate Change Conference COP27 to be held in Sharm el-Sheikh in November 2022.
Prof. Dr. Mervat Kassem, Dean of Faculty of Pharmacy, pointed out that the marathon was launched from the front of the Bibliotheca Alexandrina to the Citadel of Qaitbay with the participation of about 150 individuals, and an elite of Faculty staff members, Faculty employees, and students. She explained that the organization of the marathon came with the aim of unify the students and Faculty members as one family and to encourage the students to practice sports to improve their physical and mental health, which reflects positively on their academic performance.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Sherif Rostom, Vice Dean of Community Service and Environmental Development, stated that the marathon is part of a campaign adopted by Faculty of Pharmacy entitled "Go Green" that includes several events within the framework of the state's directions for sustainability in preserving the environment and combating climate change "Prepare for Green".
At the end of the marathon, prizes and certificates of appreciation were handed over to the winners of the top three places in both the walking and cycling competitions.
