As part of Alexandria University’s celebrations marking the anniversary of the Glorious October Victories, and under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of the University, the Faculty of Sports Science for Girls organized a ceremony on Monday, October 20, 2025, to commemorate this great national occasion—honoring the heroism of the Egyptian Armed Forces and their sacrifices that restored Egypt’s dignity and pride.

The celebration was attended by Dr. Doaa El-Dardiry Abou El-Hassan, Dean of the Faculty; Dr. Eman Mahmoud El-Sherif, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Sabrine Attia Morsal, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Naglaa Fathy Khalifa, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research; and Dr. Lamia El-Shafie, Coordinator of Voluntary Activities at Alexandria University. The event also witnessed the presence of several faculty members, heads of academic departments, and students participating in various student activities.

The celebration began with the Egyptian national anthem, followed by a welcoming speech by the Dean, who greeted all guests and participants, affirming that the October War anniversary will always remain a source of pride and inspiration for future generations, as it embodies the spirit of patriotism, determination, and perseverance.

The program included an awareness seminar delivered by Major General Gamal El-Din Mohamed Rashad, former Head of Armament of the Egyptian Air Force, entitled “The Heroics of October: Then and Now.” In his lecture, he reviewed the stages of preparation for victory from 1967 until the great crossing on October 6, 1973. He emphasized that this day will forever be a shining milestone in Egyptian and Arab history, reflecting the will and capability of Egyptians to achieve the impossible.

Following the seminar, students of the Faculty presented a musical operetta titled “Tahya Misr” (Long Live Egypt), expressing deep feelings of pride and national belonging. This was followed by a patriotic musical performance by the Alexandria University Choir and Music Ensemble, under the supervision of the Cultural and Artistic Activities Department at the General Administration of Youth Welfare.

At the end of the celebration, the Dean expressed her sincere appreciation to all participants and organizers, praising the students and the university choir for their outstanding artistic performances that reflected a strong sense of national identity. She affirmed that the Faculty will continue to organize purposeful events that foster patriotism and loyalty among students.

Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, congratulated the Faculty of Engineering students who participated in the summer training program at the University of Louisville, USA, after their remarkable achievement in securing top positions in the university’s annual competition. Student Malak Sherif Badr won second place, while student Seif Magid Farouk won third place.

This achievement comes as part of the distinguished partnership between Alexandria University and the University of Louisville, which includes summer training programs in research laboratories, in addition to the joint undergraduate program (2+2) that grants students a dual degree from both universities in various engineering disciplines.

Last year witnessed the graduation of the first cohort of this program in Biomedical Engineering, where seven students received dual degrees after successfully completing their studies at the University of Louisville.

The cooperation also extends to the joint master’s program, which allows students to complete 6 credit hours during their undergraduate studies at Alexandria University that are counted towards the master’s requirements, followed by 24 credit hours at the University of Louisville to obtain a Master of Science in Engineering.

This international partnership reflects Alexandria University’s commitment to enhancing its students’ academic and research capabilities, providing them with global educational and research opportunities that enrich their experiences and open broad horizons for cultural exchange and the acquisition of international skills in advanced engineering fields.

As part of the implementation of the cooperation agreement between Alexandria University and Senghor University, and under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, in cooperation with the Department of Culture at Senghor University, organized the first Cultural Tourism Forum. The forum was held under the title "Cultural Resources: Heritage and Tourism." The forum aimed to introduce graduate students at Senghor University to the cultural and tourism heritage of Alexandria.
 
 
The event was attended by Dr. Abeer Attia, Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels, Dr. Dina Ezz El-Din, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Ribio Nzeza Bunketi Buse, Head of the Department of Culture at Senghor University, as well as faculty members, assisting staff, and students from both sides.
 
 
In her speech, Dr. Abeer Attia welcomed the attendees and participating students from Senghor University and the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels. She noted that this event is part of the implementation of the cooperation agreement between Alexandria University and Senghor University, with the aim of exchanging expertise between the two parties and exploring the culture, heritage, and tourism of Alexandria. She thanked the organizers of this event for their remarkable efforts.
Dr. Dina Ezz El-Din explained that the faculty is pleased to host faculty members and students from Senghor University to attend this forum, noting that several cultural, tourism, and heritage activities will be implemented between the two parties in the coming period.
 
 
During the meeting, a workshop on the holy month of Ramadan was held, to highlight Egyptian heritage during Ramadan. Students from the Faculty of Tourism and Hotels at Alexandria University also held an exhibition of their work to introduce Senghor University students to Egypt's heritage.
 
 
Senghor University students presented their projects to promote the culture and heritage of African countries.

Dr. Abdelaziz Konswa, President of Alexandria University, congratulated Dr. Ayman Ahmed Shtewi, on the occasion of the issuance of the presidential decree appointing him as Dean of the Faculty of Business, wishing him success and continued efforts to raise the level of the Faculty, and stressing the provision of all support and assistance to him for his success in performing his mission.

Within the framework of the political leadership's directives on the necessity of raising awareness among young people and developing their spirit of belonging, and under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, in collaboration with the leadership of the Popular Defense Forces and the Military, Alexandria University organized today, Tuesday, the 11th of February 2025, an educational seminar entitled "Developing the Spirit of Loyalty and Belonging in light of hostile psychological operations", at the Faculty of Engineering, lectured by Dr. Taher Nasr, Visiting Lecturer at the Military Academy for Graduate Studies and Strategy.
 
 
 
 
The seminar was attended by Dr. Walid Abdelazim, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Wael El-Meghlani, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Education and Student Affairs, Colonel Mohamed Maher Abdelaziz, Director of the Military Education Department at Alexandria University, Lieutenant Colonel Shehab El-Din Magdy, Deputy Director of Military Education at Alexandria University, and a group of faculty members, assistants at the faculty, and students.
 
 
 
 
During the event, Dr. Taher Nasr reviewed the visions that aim to enhance national values among young people and their contribution to combating misconceptions that may be promoted by some groups. He also touched on the importance of education and training as a basic means of qualifying individuals and how to invest available resources to develop the necessary skills and competencies. Dr. Nasr also addressed the elements related to enhancing the national belonging of young people, defining thought terrorism and the weak points that lead to being vulnerable to thought terrorism and the effective steps to confront and prevent them, in addition to many axes, including the social dimension of national security, which is an influential factor in national security and is responsible for activating its security as an individual or a society, which requires preparing citizens in a sound manner in terms of his health, morals, cultures and heritage. At the end of the seminar, Dr. Taher stressed to the students the importance of achieving psychological stability by dealing with events with thought, increasing national cohesion, the ability to deal with personal psychological frustrations, overcome despair ,maintain the stability of the Egyptian family, and increase internal cohesion among them.
