Faculty of Medicine Organizes the First Employment Forum for Young Doctors

As part of its ongoing commitment to supporting its graduates, preparing them for the job market, and promoting transparency and institutional governance, the Faculty of Medicine at Alexandria University organized the First Employment Forum for Young Doctors on the morning of Saturday, October 18, 2025, at the Grand Conference Hall of the Faculty.

The event was attended by a number of distinguished academic and medical figures, including Prof. Hend Hanafy, former President of Alexandria University; Prof. Seddik Abdel Salam, former Vice President of the University; Prof. Mahmoud El-Zalabany, former Dean of the Faculty of Medicine; Prof. Ali Abdel Mohsen, former Vice President of the University; Prof. Morsi Arab, Professor of Internal Medicine; and Prof. Abdel Moneim Fawzy, President of the Alexandria Medical Syndicate, along with a large number of faculty members, teaching assistants, and students.

Prof. Tamer Abdallah, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Chairman of the University Hospitals Board, stated that the forum was characterized by rich and interactive discussions between professors and students, reflecting a strong sense of academic belonging and intergenerational connection within the Faculty. He added that the event contributes to preparing medical cadres capable of meeting the challenges of the labor market. The program included several specialized lectures, among them one delivered by Dr. Shaimaa Sabry Habib, Director of Training at the School of Health Affairs and Coordinator of the Egyptian Board, on professional development pathways for young doctors.

Prof. Eman Youssef, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, explained that the forum witnessed wide participation from students across all academic years, who showed great interest in the discussion sessions and professional lectures addressing career planning skills, medical training requirements, and mechanisms for joining the Egyptian Board. She added that the forum concluded with a set of recommendations emphasizing the leading role of the Faculty of Medicine in empowering young doctors, equipping them with the knowledge and skills required for professional excellence, and fostering values of belonging, leadership, and innovation within the medical community.

The forum was organized under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed Zeid, Professor of Internal Medicine and Head of the Liver Transplantation Unit, with contributions from the organizing team: Dr. Ayat Al-Tayyar, Dr. Noran Al-Nemr, Dr. Mostafa Asal, Dr. Doaa Abu El-Dahab, Dr. Nesma Saeed, and Dr. Ahmed Hani.

Under the auspices of Dr. Abdelaziz Konswa, President of Alexandria University, Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President of Alexandria University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Dr. Ahmed Wahban, Dean of the Faculty of Economic Studies and Political Science, opened yesterday, Wednesday, the seventh scientific conference of the faculty, in the presence of a number of faculty deans, Eminent Egyptian Navy men affiliated with the Naval faculty, members of parliamentary councils, faculty members, representatives of many civil society organizations, media figures, and hundreds of researchers and students.

In his speech, Prof. Dr. Saeed Allam conveyed the greetings of Dr. Abdel Aziz Qanswa, President of Alexandria University, to the attendees and his wishes to everyone for a fruitful and successful conference. He praised the continued regularity of holding the college’s scientific conference every year. He also stressed the importance of studying the economic and political reality, which would provide a vision He pointed out the importance of the various recommendations that the conference could come out of research and studies related to the two axes of the economic and political conference, which in turn enhances the leading scientific and societal role of Alexandria University and confirms its position as a major house of expertise that contributes to enrichment. In his speech, Dr. Ahmed Wahban, Dean of the faculty and President of the Conference, welcomed the attendees, and referred to the topic of the current (seventh) conference, which includes two inseparable axes, the first of which is the economic axis, which focuses on the problems of the twin deficits and the debt crisis in Arab economies, and the second is the political axis on the current global transformations and developments. Research in political science, and it was considered that the two axes are complementary, given that economic pressures represent one of the mechanisms of wars of the fourth and fifth generations, which include, in addition to economic mechanisms, military mechanisms, and mechanisms related to psychological warfare, black propaganda, information warfare, electronic waste, and other mechanisms of these two generations. One of the generations of wars that aim to achieve and perpetuate divisions in hostile societies. At the end of his speech, Dr. Wahban stressed to the conference researchers the necessity of presenting serious, effective, and applicable recommendations that can be effectively invested in serving the nation and its issues.
 
 
 
 
In the same context, came the words of Dr. Al-Sayed Al-Seriti, professor of economics at the college and rapporteur of the conference, who stressed that the college’s scientific conference is a forum for presenting research and exchanging ideas and visions aimed at contributing to the discussion and solution of contemporary economic and political problems. Thus, the conference represents an enhancement of the distinguished image of the college at the prestigious University of Alexandria in The academic environment, as well as ensuring greater care for the college’s academic projects and highlighting the university’s position locally and internationally by encouraging scientific research activities in the economic and political fields that occupy the contemporary arena for the benefit of this nation and its people.
 
 
 
Yesterday's activities ended with honoring the researchers participating in the conference on its first day, and handing over shields to the session chairs and commentators.
 
 
 
 
It is worth noting that the conference concludes its work today, Thursday, April 25, 2024, with two sessions that include new research and a discussion session on the problems of the twin deficits and the debt crisis in the Arab countries.

President of Alexandria University Inaugurates "Mascot of Civilizations" Mural on Faculty of Fine Arts Wall

Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, inaugurated this morning the "Mascot of Civilizations" mural, which was executed by faculty students students on the wall of the main building of the Faculty of Fine Arts, as a graduation project for the 62nd batch.

The inauguration was witnessed by Dr. Saeed Allam, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Nevin Gharib, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Dr. Hesham Seoudi, former Dean of the Faculty and Head of the Engineers Syndicate in Alexandria, Dr. Mohamed Helal, former Dean of the Faculty, Mr. Ehab Zakaria, member of the Senate, in addition to a number of faculty members, Dr. Mona Ragab, emerita lecturer at the faculty and supervisor of the mural implementation, and Ms. Menatallah Mohamed Abbas, a teaching assistant in the Mural Painting Department at the faculty.

In his speech, Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa praised the distinguished level of the mural, which includes wonderful designs that express different civilizations, stressing the university's keenness to provide support in all its forms to stimulate creativity and innovation and encourage students to showcase their talents and creative ideas, implement them on the ground and harness them to meet the needs of society and the surrounding environment, referring to the long history and international reputation enjoyed by the Faculty of Fine Arts at the university, the leading role of it's alumni in serving the nation in various fields and the efforts of the faculty in contributing to national projects such as implementing sculpture and restoration works in Antoniadis Gardens, directing to the need to optimally utilize graduation projects and employ them to beautify the university's faculties and their surrounding community in cooperation with civil society.
 
 
 
Dr. Konsowa encouraged students to submit their creative ideas to the Technology Valley at Alexandria University to obtain the necessary funding and transform their innovative and creative ideas into start-up companies in cooperation with industrial partners.
 
 
 
Dr. Nevin Gharib thanked the university president for the continuous support provided by the university to the faculty, enabling it to achieve its goals in education, scientific research and community service, pointing out the cooperation with civil society to implement creative student projects and serve the surrounding environment, adding that the mural of the mascot of civilizations added an aesthetic touch to the wall of the Faculty of Fine Arts.
 
 
 
 
Dr. Mona Ragab confirmed that the mural consists of 12 artistic panels done by 12 students, and extends over an area of 60 square meters. She pointed out that the implementation of the mural took a year and a half of continuous and diligent work using natural materials such as stone, marble, granite and mosaic, and was installed on the wall of the Faculty of Fine Arts in Mazloum, Alexandria. She added that the project was based on the subject of art history and its collective idea was inspired by the great civilizations that left their mark on the world. This project brings together the essence of some of the most influential civilizations in history, starting with the Stone Age, ancient Egyptian civilization, Mayan and Aztec civilizations, Greco-Roman civilization, Coptic, and Islamic civilizations. She pointed out that the mural includes main symbols and motifs that represent different civilizations, in addition to texts and languages that express the identities of these civilizations.
 
 
 
 
 
The opening ceremony also included honouring the students who executed the mural and handing them certificates of appreciation. They are: Israa Mohamed, Asma Abul-Hassan, Basma Essam, Aya Khafaga, Rowan Ashraf, Rowan Wael, Simon Moawad, Tasneem El-Kurdi, Maryam Hussein, Mona Asfour, Abdelrahman Saeed, and Nardine Naeem.

Faculty of Early Childhood Education Celebrates the Graduation of a New Class

Under the auspices of Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, the Faculty of Early Childhood Education celebrated the graduation of the 33rd cohort of the Early Childhood Teacher Preparation Program for the academic year 2024/2025, as well as the 10th cohort of the Early Intervention Specialist Program in Special Education. The ceremony also marked the graduation of the 2nd cohort of the Kindergarten Teacher Preparation Program, the Special Education Teacher Preparation Program, and the Early Childhood Teacher Preparation Program in English.

The celebration was attended by Professor Dr. Rehab Seddiq, Dean of the Faculty; Professor Dr. Lamia Osman, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs; and Professor Dr. Solaf El-Hamrawy, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research.

In her speech on this occasion, Professor Dr. Rehab Seddiq, Dean of the Faculty, expressed her sincere appreciation to the leadership of Alexandria University, faculty members, assistant staff, and the administrative team of the Faculty. She also extended her gratitude to the graduates’ families for their continuous support, emphasizing that each graduate carries today not only a certificate of graduation, but also a mission, a trust, and a responsibility toward the community that expects them to instill authentic values and exert sincere efforts for the progress and advancement of the nation. She concluded her remarks by congratulating the graduates and wishing them success in their professional lives, so that they may always remain a source of pride and honor for beloved Egypt

 

Faculty of Pharmacy's Project Wins Third Place in National Initiative for Green Smart Projects

Professor Dr. Abdelaziz Konsowa, President of Alexandria University, congratulated the Faculty of Pharmacy for its "Green Cycle" project winning third place at the level of Alexandria Governorate in the National Initiative for Green Smart Projects in its third edition (2024) in the category of non-profit community initiatives and participations.
 
 
 
It is worth noting that the project won for the second year in a row in this initiative, as it achieved first place at the level of Alexandria Governorate last year.
 
 
 
For his part, Lieutenant General Ahmed Khaled Saeed, Governor of Alexandria, honoured the winning projects, and handed over certificates of appreciation to Dr. Sherif Rostom, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Dr. Amr El-Hawit, Professor of Drugs and Member of the Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs Committee at the Faculty, in the presence of Major General Khaled Shoeib, Governor of Matrouh, Dr. Jacqueline Azer, Governor of Beheira, and the faculty members.
